The first groups had already arrived on Thursday, but Friday the rest of them arrived all through the day. Andreas and me had a busy time organising all these arrivals, while in the meantime getting to know all those Late Romans suddenly appearing in one spot, and besides that practising the drill of the Herculiani. This splendid-looking group from France and Belgium had developed a very intricate drill, which they performed as a separate event together with the French Foederati. We practised with them on Friday, but decided that it would be better not to join them on Saturday or Sunday.

Breakfast is over, and the Herculiani are getting ready to practise.

And if that wasn't enough, we still had a show to hammer out, adjusting timetables and finalising details as we went along. The Teuxandrii and the Batavi decided meanwhile where they would be fighting, and who was going to join them in battle. The weather was great, and all had a good time.

time to get a good night's sleepWith the sun setting, we settled down in the camp - after we had some good discussions around the fires in the camp of course, about re-enacting and all stuff relating to that. And when the last stragglers from the UK and Spain arrived, it was time to get a good night's sleep.

Next day Saturday, and it's for real this time!
